Earlier this month, in the lead-up to Prime Day week, Amazon celebrated its UEFA Women's Football partnership by hosting a special Trophy Tour at Amazon’s fulfilment centre (FC) in Torrazza Piemonte, Italy, and corporate office in Munich, Germany. The events gave hundreds of Amazon employees a unique opportunity to see the UEFA Women's EURO and UEFA Women's Champions League trophies up close, whilst enjoying football-themed activities and giveaways, and, in Italy, the chance to meet a national footballing icon.

In Turin, Juventus Women captain and former Italy national captain Sara Gama visited employees at the fulfilment centre in Torrazza Piemonte, and was joined by representatives and young talent from Independiente Ivrea, a local amateur women's football association. Attendees had the chance to admire the trophies on exhibit at the logistics site, as well as to enjoy a meet and greet and Q&A session with the footballing icon. At the event, a donation of football equipment from Amazon.it’s Women's Football Store was gifted to Independiente Ivrea for the new season. The special event served as a valuable opportunity for reflection and dialogue on inclusion topics, and to discuss Amazon’s proud partnership with UEFA Women’s Football.

“We are very happy to host Sara Gama here on our site. We believe that moments of dialogue like these can always be useful tools for personal growth and awareness for us,” said Nicola Draghi, General Manager of Torrazza Piemonte fulfilment centre. “We work every day to build a safer, more productive, and efficient working environment, characterised by greater diversity and equity. Women's football represents the team play that is fundamental to us and the desire to continue growing, breaking down bias and useless gender stereotypes. The same approach guides our decisions every day.”

“When I have the opportunity to enhance the women's football community, it is always a great pleasure for me,” said Sara Gama. “There are so many of us who love this sport and it’s an honour for me to contribute to its growth. Football is a sport for everyone, no girl should think otherwise. The culture of inclusion is a constant practice, which requires the commitment of the whole of society, including the major brands who can make a difference. I’m glad when I see companies such as Amazon that decide to support female sports, helping to spread them among communities worldwide is an important step further in equity and inclusion.”

“The founding members [of Independiente Ivrea] had the objective of setting up an all-female soccer club that could become a point of reference for the entire Canavese area, since at the time there were no women's soccer clubs,” said Roberto Tridello, president of Independiente Ivrea. “We believe sport can be an excellent tool for breaking down barriers and fighting social battles both on and off the field and these kinds of initiatives help in promoting the culture of equality that is the basis not only of women's football, but of every sport.”

At our corporate office in Munich, hundreds of employees got a kick out of the experience, with a chance to get up close with the trophies. Mementos from the day included UEFA Women’s Football t-shirt giveaways and competitions, and even the chance to take home official adidas UEFA Women’s Champions League footballs.

Amazon is a proud partner of UEFA Women's Football

Amazon's sponsorship of UEFA Women's Football underscores our commitment to supporting the growth and increasing the visibility of the sport. We aim to use our global scale to inspire new fans, raise awareness, and champion the remarkable players helping to drive women's football forward. Earlier this year, we kicked off our European-wide brand campaign ‘The Grit’, which was rooted in the insight that playing women’s football unleashes confidence and self-assurance [1] on and off the pitch. The campaign celebrates the skill, spirit, and sheer quality in the women’s game today, with grassroots players taking centre stage and showing their passion, tenacity, and camaraderie, encapsulating that it is the women and girls of today bringing the ‘grit’ to the beautiful game.

Furthermore, making it even easier to discover a wide selection of football essentials, Amazon has launched its Women’s Football Store (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL, BE) a single destination for everything needed to train, play, and recover, from leading sporting brands. The storefront features over a thousand quality products from shin guards to sports nutrition, training vests to trophies, and sports tape to cold compresses, with the selection curated for women and girls by an all-women team. In addition, Amazon Music is now hosting the Official UEFA Women’s Champions League playlist, and later this year, we will become home to the first Official UEFA Women’s Champions League online store, featuring tournament merchandise.
