Since 2019, Amazon has created over 20,000 permanent jobs in Spain, as one of the ten largest private-sector employers in the country[1]. Beyond the numbers, it’s the talent and customer obsession of our people that makes us unique.
At Amazon, we offer employment opportunities for people from all backgrounds, encompassing a wide range of ages, educational levels, and professional experience. From those entering the workforce for the first time to those with decades of experience, our aim is to provide an environment where every individual can grow, advance, and contribute meaningfully to their team, regardless of their background or role.
400 ways to innovate
At Amazon, innovation takes many forms. From people working in fields like artificial intelligence (AI), logistics specialists, and software developers bringing the next generation of smart devices to life, to solutions architects and operations engineers at AWS, and creatives and marketers for Prime Video, and many more who enrich our team in Spain - a team of 28,000 people spread across more than 400 different roles.
“My job is to help charities deliver food and other essential products to people in need, like when you bring food home. Imagine a charity has food or basic goods to donate, but no way to get them to their destination,” explains Jorge Gómez Martín, Account Manager, Local Good. “That's where we come in: we offer our transportation network free of charge so that the aid reaches those who need it most.” Jorge also took part in Amazon's response efforts to the 2024 catastrophic flooding in the Valencian community. As he puts it, “This has been the most significant project of my career, because every minute spent coordinating the response directly translated into effective and tangible help for those affected.”
At Amazon, we live every day as if it were Day One. We foster a culture of responsibility and autonomy, where every professional has the ability to develop, create, and lead big ideas. Big ideas such as faster delivery, allowing customers to receive their orders in just three and a half hours. “With this project, we’ve managed to set the record for the fastest delivery in 2024, allowing a customer to receive their order in just 82 minutes,” says Fernando de las Cuevas, Senior Ops Manager at the San Fernando de Henares fulfilment centre (FC).
The people who work at Amazon are the protagonists of their own professional development, and the company provides a unique environment that fosters professional growth like no other place. Senior Development Manager (SDM) Lara Fajardo explains her career to her family as "a journey of constant growth and overcoming challenges. Over the past five years, my job has been to help people easily find the books they want to buy on Amazon. It's like when you organise your pantry so you can quickly find what you need without wasting time searching. Now I work in the area of smart home devices, helping people see what's happening in their homes in real-time."
Sandra Rodrigo, PXT Compliance Governance Manager, is responsible for launching initiatives that help make Amazon a great place to work. "When I arrived at Amazon, we only had one centre in Spain with a few hundred employees. Today, we’re an organisation with thousands of people, which requires very different management,” she says. “Over these years, we have developed innovative programmes and processes that allow us to grow responsibly, take care of our employees, and create quality job opportunities."
At Amazon, we offer a modern and dynamic work environment based on innovation, safety, and sustainability, where from their first day, employees enjoy a competitive salary and have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes a retirement plan, medical insurance, and mental health support. We also offer Career Choice, an educational programme that covers tuition costs for nationally recognised courses.
In this context, Amazon has been named a Top Employer in Europe for the third consecutive year, and we have also been recognised as one of the best companies to work for in Spain by LinkedIn. These acknowledgments reaffirm our commitment to the professional development and well-being of all employees across all business areas in Spain.
