All Amazon jobs come with competitive pay and benefits, whether they are based in a fulfillment center or in a corporate office. Both regular and seasonal Amazon employees at the fulfillment centers can count on attractive wages: an entry wage starting from PLN 22.5 gross per hour and an additional monthly bonus of up to 15% for individual attendance and team productivity. The company also offers additional benefits, such as free transportation to and from work on selected routes, hot meals for PLN 1, free during the festive season, private medical insurance and access to the innovative ‘Career Choice’ program that provides Fulfillment Centers employees funding for vocational courses. Amazon covers up to 95% of tuition costs and fees, up to PLN 26,000.

"I chose to work at Amazon because of the possibility to improve my skills in the area which is the most interesting for me - working with people, broadening my knowledge and the efficiency of performing my duties. Moreover, Amazon offers a wide package of benefits and flexible working hours, which gives an opportunity to combine professional and private life – says Edyta Nowak, who works at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Pawlikowice near Łódź – All this makes me recommend working at Amazon with conviction, especially to those who are focused on their personal growth."

Investments

In addition, Amazon invested more than PLN 12 billion since 2012. This includes both capital expenditure (such as the infrastructure, our fulfillment centers, corporate offices and development centers), and operating expenditure (such as the jobs we create in Poland). These direct investments create a positive effect to the local economy and Keystone, an independent macroeconomic consultancy, estimates Amazon’s investments have created an additional PLN 12 billion in value-added GDP since 2012. Every zloty invested by Amazon in Poland generated an estimated PLN 0.99 in value-added effects. As a result of our investments, Poland has become one of our largest global hubs for talent.

“Our long-term commitment to Poland remains strong and I am thrilled to announce that our team has grown to 23,000 employees. I am particularly pleased that this has been achieved during such a challenging period and we can offer good jobs with competitive pay and benefits in a safe working environment starting from Day One”, said Marian Sepesi, Regional Director Operations in CEE.

We continue heavily investing in this country, and the over PLN 12 billion already invested and the additional PLN 12 billion in value-added GDP are a demonstration of our commitment to contribute to the growth of Polish economy.

Direct and indirect created jobs

In addition to our direct created jobs, our investments also support a large number of indirect jobs in our supply chain and across the network of sellers, who have used our technology and services to grow their businesses through increased sales within Poland and beyond. Keystone’s research estimates that companies in Amazon’s supply chain (including, for example, in building services, transportation, property services and professional services) supported around 18,000 additional jobs, and our selling partners another 10,000 in 2020. Combining Amazon’s direct employment with these indirect employment effects, this means that Amazon enables employment for over 51,000 people across Poland.

Our support to empower Small and Medium Enterprises

In 2020 alone, Amazon’s business has also provided opportunities for 2,500 of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who sell their products in Amazon’s stores across the world and use the tools and services we build to help them grow. SMEs continue to account for more than 50% of everything we sell in our online stores, and in 2020 they achieved total export sales of more than PLN 2.2 billion and supported more than 10,000 job opportunities in Poland.

Polish small and medium businesses sold more than 15 million products on Amazon, up from 10 million year-over-year. Over 500 Polish SMEs selling on Amazon surpassed €100,000 in sales and over 50 Polish the €1 million sales for the first time in 2020.

We launched Amazon.pl in March and we are taking a long-term view to provide our Polish customers with a shopping experience they will appreciate. We are continuously investing in our teams and keep hiring talents in Poland. Moreover, we created great business opportunities for Polish SMEs, which, on average in 2020, sold more than 30 products every minute. We are very enthusiastic regarding their future growth, both in our Polish and international stores”, said Mourad Taoufiki, Country Manager at Amazon Poland.

“I am happy to hear that Amazon is implementing yet another ambitious plan, investing not only in its logistics centers and R&D, but also in qualified staff. This is the best recognition for our country and for our talented and motivated workforce. While the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) aims to attract new foreign investments to Poland, we also support current investors and with the goal of fostering their stable growth and development. I am all the more pleased because Amazon cooperates with our Agency and uses some of the solutions we have on offer, such as the ‘Poland. Business Harbor’ program, which helps attract foreign talents to our country. This creates added value for the Polish economy and boosts the competences and competitiveness of our successful IT sector. We strive to create the best conditions possible to encourage foreign investment in Poland” – says Polish Investment and Trade Agency Chairman Krzysztof Drynda.
