Creating quality jobs
We currently employ more than 25,000 people in Spain, making us one of the country’s largest private-sector employers. These permanent roles include more than 20,000 jobs we’ve created since 2018, reflecting our growth and investment in the country.
Our diverse workforce includes people of different ages, education levels and career paths. Our employees represent more than 100 nationalities and we are proud to have more than 40% women in sectors where women are significantly underrepresented, including engineering, technology and logistics. We are also proud supporters of the LGBTIQA+ community.
Expanding our presence in Spain
We committed to reaching 25,000 permanent employees by 2025 during the celebration of our tenth anniversary in Spain in 2021. We reached the target even quicker, by the end of 2023. We operate in 40 sites across the country and continue to expand. In 2023, we launched new fulfilment centres in Zaragoza and Girona and announced a new centre in Siero (Asturias), and delivery stations in Granada and Coruña - expected to create more than 1,500 jobs over the next three years.
Our logistics sites provide a modern, safe work environment with competitive salaries exceeding industry standards. Employees receive comprehensive benefits from day one, including private medical insurance, a pension plan, subsidised meals, employee discounts and extended paid parental leave - benefits are valued at more than €3,500 annually.
Amazon Web Services investment
Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to invest €15.7 billion in Spain over the next decade, expanding its AWS Europe Region in Aragón. This investment is expected to support 17,500 full-time jobs annually, including direct, indirect and induced employment.
Through job creation and investment, Amazon is contributing to local, regional and national economic growth in Spain and creating opportunities for our employees and the communities we serve.
